WE DID IT!!
We have partnered with Pulmodyne, an Intersurgical Company, to bring the Goldilocks Valves technology to market as the VT Select. #BagLikeABoss
The VT Select is a manual resuscitator with a tactile feedback system designed to help control rate and volume. When used following training guidelines it can help prevent hyperventilation and barotrauma. The bag features a delayed refill valve setting which acts as a timer between breaths by restricting the refill of the bag to ~4.5 seconds. This delay helps cue a delivery of ~10 breaths per minute. The finger ridges act as compression point indicators to achieve ~500-600 ml of volume delivery. The American Heart Association recommends delivering adults 10 breaths per minute and estimates an average adult volume of 500-600 ml. The VT Select can be supplied with an optional PEEP valve, filter, and dial manometer.
Learn to #BagLikeABoss: Instructions for Use
1. Ensure the valve is in the “Activated” setting. This is the default setting.
2. Place fingers and thumb of one hand on the finger ridges.
3. Compress the bag over one full second until fingers touch, which results in the delivery of ~500-600 ml of air.
4. When the bag is released, the valve will cause a delayed refill. The delay is the timer between breaths. When the user feels that the bag is fully re-inflated, it is time to compress the bag again to achieve delivery of ~10 breaths per minute.
The American Heart Association recommends delivering adults 10 breaths per minute and estimates an average adult volume of 500-600 ml. Users are responsible to follow AHA and/or their agency guidelines. The VT Select also features a "Standard" valve setting. This setting allows rapid refill of the bag, so that when indicated, it may be used as a standard BVM.
